He was a lifelong resident of Athens, GA and graduated from Winterville High School in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hubert L. and Alice B. Eidson of Athens.
He was self-employed in the carpet industry. Upon retiring, he worked part-time in the UGA Athletic Department with basketball, football and baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, LaTrelle S. Eidson of Winterville; son, Louis Toby Eidson of Winterville; brothers-in-law: Bobby Skelton, Ken Skelton; and Ted Skelton; sisters-in-law: Eva (John A.) Simpson, Carol Blackwell and Jackie Chastain; niece, Ginger B. (David) Hooten of Columbus, GA; nephew, Kenneth Bullock of New York; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
