Born in Athens, Mrs. Slay was the daughter of Grover I. Casper and Gladys Foster Casper. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a member of the AMVETS Post in Athens and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include children: Denise Whitfield (John) of Bogart, Dennis Turner of Bogart, Scott Slay (Christie) of Marietta, Stacey Hubbard (Bobby) of Bogart and Susan Davis (Thom) of Lincolnton, NC; brother, Jack Casper (Linda) of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
