Born in Commerce, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Roy Brown and Lilla Lord Brown. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Thornton Brothers Paper Company and was an avid golfer. Mr. Brown was the widower of Kathryn Louise Fulghum Brown.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Abe Brown (Robbin) of Commerce, Brad Brown (Laurie) of Gainesville, Bonnie Harris of Athens, Cathy Curtis (Chip) of New Bern, NC, Cindy Warner of New Bern, NC, Nannette Rod (John) of Overland Park, KS and Lilleen Hammond (Danny) of Greenville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 26, at 3:00 p.m., at New Covenant Worship Center with Revs. Howard Conine, David Hutchinson and Evangelist Beth Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
