Born in Alton, IL, Tom was a son of the late Paul John Cooke and Jadwiga Wolodko Cooke. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War as a Navy 2nd Class Petty Officer E5 on the Mt. McKinley and the Montrose. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Chapter 92 in Oconee County and the American Legion Post 56 in Jefferson. Tom loved music and worked as a mobile DJ. He attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church and Southside Church.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Cooke.
Survivors include wife, Nancy Stanley Cooke; daughters, Christy Wall and Angie Wall; brother, Mike Cooke; and sister, Pauline Toombs.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, April 15, at 11:00 a.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park, with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in Tom’s honor to the DAV Chapter 92, PO Box 1011, Jefferson, GA 30549.
