Born on August 17, 2000, in Atlanta, GA, Benjamin was the beloved son of Christy Hancock and Rob Darby. He graduated from Mountain View High School in May 2018 and carried his vibrant spirit and deep compassion into every workplace and relationship throughout his life.
Ben’s passions were as bold as his heart. Whether training in Muay Thai, boxing, or immersed in gaming on his PlayStation 5, he brought joy, humor, and passion to everything he did. Known for his obsession with fitness and love of the sauna, Ben also took pride in his impressive collection of Temu jewelry—pieces he wore with flair and showed off with pride. He was unforgettable, and anyone lucky enough to cross his path felt the warmth of his generous spirit and the uniqueness that set him apart.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Terrell Monroe Darby; and great-grandmother, Eleanor Helms.
He is survived by his parents, Christy and Mike Hancock, and Rob and Debbie Darby; his siblings, Stephanie Darby, Katie Darby, Courtney Osbourne, Chelsea Hancock, Chris Hancock, Jarrett Babcock, and Heather Babcock; his niece, Dahlia Harris; his grandparents, Patrick and Martha Barron, and Sandra and Don Etters; his aunts and uncles, Debbie and Dan Gaskill, and John and Carolina Barron; and his cousins Devin Gaskill, Jake Gaskill, and Sebastian Barron.
