Beryl Hamlen Morrisey, devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away December 31, 2016 at her home in Dunwoody, GA after a short illness. She was born on May 30, 1942 in Salem, MA to Gardner and Dorothy Hamlen. Beryl graduated from Marblehead High School and Lasell College. After living in Massachusetts, New York, Kansas, and Connecticut, Beryl settled in Dunwoody 38 years ago. Beryl loved everyone and everything passionately and was loyal, sassy, generous and a second Mom to many. She always had a front row seat at the sporting events and activities of her daughters and grandchildren, volunteered as PTA and Girl Scout leader and loved her Atlanta Braves. For the past 20 years, Beryl worked as jack-of-all trades at David’s Flowers and Blooms of Dunwoody, where all her co-workers and customers became her friends. Beryl is survived by her husband of 52 years John Michael (Mike), daughters Jill Morrisey and Bonnie Bryson, son-in-law Chris Bryson, and grandchildren Will and Caroline Bryson, all of Sandy Springs. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 8 at 3:30pm at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mount Vernon Road, with a reception at the church to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Twin Lakes (camptwinlakes.org) or a charity of your choice.
