

Ruth Carol Raymond Huey, 75, died April 4, 2015, with her family by her side in Athens, GA. She was born on October 9, 1939, in Atlanta to Jack and Ruth Raymond. She grew up in Atlanta, graduated from The Westminster Schools and attended college at Georgia State. She married Stewart Huey in 1957 and devoted her life to raising their four children in a lovely and nurturing home. She spent many years providing administrative and managerial support to their company, Association Services/Atlanta, Inc. Carol learned how to arrange flowers at Tucker Flower Shop, lending her skills to many trade shows, events, and weddings. She also loved to sew and garden. All of her many talents took a back seat to her devotion to church and family. She put considerable time and effort into teaching Vacation Bible School and Sunday School at various Methodist churches they attended through the years. She also loved to be Grandma and cherished every moment she could spend with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Stewart; their four children, spouses, and 9 grandchildren; Rev. Marshall Huey of Charleston, SC and his sons Gordon and James, Ray and Cathy Greenwood of Sandy Hook, CT and their children, Jennifer, Daniel, and Michael, Cheri and John Kendrick of Marietta, GA, and their children, John and Emily, and Dean and Cindy Stinson of Bogart, GA and her children Hunter and Ryann. A 10:00 AM graveside service on Saturday, April 11th, at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA will be followed by a memorial service at Cashiers United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children's Fund at Cashiers United Methodist Church, Cashiers, NC.
