

Doris was born in Dungannon, VA on October 6, 1924 to Alva C. and Myrtle Ruth Elliott. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Palmer Dean (2001) of Dean and Tanner Insurance Agency.
Doris took great pride in her career as an executive secretary to a Dean at Georgia Tech University. A popular member of her community, Doris held the honor of Ambassador and welcomed new neighbors, commemorated birthdays and celebrated important milestones with original poetry. Doris’ delightful verses brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to have been a recipient of such gifts. A dedicated student of ever improving, Doris enjoyed intellectual exercises to increase her cognitive development.
Doris enjoyed trivia, history and music. Doris had a deep appreciation for art; she created several paintings in her lifetime. Doris’ positive approach and zest for life continues to influence those with whom she was acquainted.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. James Methodist Church on Peachtree-Dunwoody Road on December 3rd at 11:30 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes contributions be made to Presbyterian Homes of Georgia, 3675 Crestwood Pkwy., Ste 370, Duluth, GA 30096.
