

Dorothea Caster Lee (Boston) Jackson, age 97, of Atlanta, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 A.D. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 17, 1917 A.D., Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Jesse, Jr. and Carrie Dean (Waller) Boston. She was a graduate of Spelman College in 1939 with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and went on to earn her master's degree at Atlanta University in 1943. A world traveler and lifelong educator, she taught science for forty years in the Atlanta School System, and led a Girl Scout Troop at Henry McNeal Turner High School for over 15 years. She was a member of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Jackson, Sr. Survivors include her son, Charles Jackson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Charles, III, Brian, and Christopher; and two great grandchildren, Christian and Denzel. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2 o'clock at H. M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill. Interment will follow at South-View Cemetery.
