OBITUARY

Evelyn Hallman Boone

26 March, 1941 – 14 January, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel

Evelyn Hallman Boone, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born in High Point, North Carolina, on March 26, 1941. She attended High Point University, earning her degree in Education. She enjoyed many years teaching 4th grade at Northwood Elementary School in High Point. She married Paul, the love of her life, on December 21, 1963. Once they started their family, Evelyn made it her life’s work to love, raise, and nurture her children, devoting herself in every way to Laura, Norman, and Jenny. Evelyn and Paul later made Atlanta, Georgia their home, where she continued to build a life filled with love, grace, and devotion to family. In December 2025, Evelyn and Paul celebrated their marriage and love story of 62 years.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ruth Hallman, and her siblings, Richard Hallman and Ruby Hallman. Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Norman Boone, Sr., and their three children: Laura Marie Boone, Paul Norman Boone, Jr. (Lisa Boone), and Jennifer Boone Bethel (Tom Bethel). She leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Carter James Boone, Laura Katherine Bethel, Sydney Virginia Boone, Margaret Ruth Bethel, and Thomas Hallman Bethel. Evelyn loved being their “Mamaw” more than anything else in the world. She adored each one individually and unconditionally. She supported them, and celebrated each one at countless sporting events, birthday parties, sleep overs, plays, and graduations.

Evelyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching her grandchildren grow, caring for her beloved horse, Lone Star, tending to her vibrant azaleas, savoring family beach trips, and preparing delicious meals for those she loved. She was an amazing cook and baker who loved bringing family together around the table.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Daughters Against Alzheimer’s (daughtersagainstalz.org) or Save The Horses (savethehorses.org) in Evelyn’s memory.

Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30319, on Sunday, January 18, 4-6:00pm, with funeral services following on Monday, January 19, at 11:00am. A private internment with immediate family will be held at a later date.
