

Sissy was born March 28, 1942 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA to Marion Joseph and Frances Ann Adams. She married James Kalb Ivey on August 3rd, 1963. Sissy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was always involved in her children’s activities when they were growing up. She was always her children’s biggest fan.
She took on the loving task of raising her three grandchildren while still raising two of her own. She was always there for all of her offspring, guiding them all through their individual life journeys. Being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was her proudest accomplishments in her life. She always opened her home and her heart to all of the kids that passed through her life here.
She had a zest for life and was loved by all that knew her. She was a beacon of light wherever she was. You couldn’t help but smile when she was around. She touched everybody who knew her.
She will be missed here on earth, but will never be forgotten. Sissy is survived by Renee Ivey (daughter), Tina (daughter) and Eugene King, Joe (son) and Felica Ivey, Chad Ivey (son), Sabrina Johnson (granddaughter), Christina (granddaughter) and Ryan Boyd, Jeramey King (grandson), Sam Ivey (grandson), Destiny Johnson (great-granddaughter), Jason Johnson (great-grandson), Brandon Fields (great-grandson), Ethan King (great-grandson), Laycee Boyd (great-granddaughter), Cayden Boyd (great-grandson), Frances Ann McMahan (mother), George Adams (brother), Sherri Morris (sister), Carol McMahan (sister), Michael McMahan (brother).
She was preceded in death by her dad, Joseph Marion Adams, her husband James Kalb Ivey and sister, Ann English.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son – Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will take place at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
