On Sunday, December 25th, James Daniel Stockstill, III passed away peacefully in his sleep from congestive heart failure. Born on July 9, 1967 to Heidi Beckers and James Stockstill, Jr., in Fort Campbell, KY, Jim is survived by both parents, his sister, Claudia Stockstill, nephew Cody Lee, great-nephews Hayden and Kayden Lee, as well as his “adopted” Thorner family.
Jim was a Senior Renovation Specialist for Limitless Renovations of Atlanta. He loved his customers dearly and enjoyed designing new kitchen and bathroom experiences for them. In his spare time, Jim was a member of The Armorette’s, an Atlanta based camp drag group that raises money for people living with, and affected by, HIV/AIDS. Hailed as one of the group’s most creative performers, his alter ego “Pink Le’Monaid” often entertained the crowd using a Disco theme and roller skates. To date, the organization has raised over 2.3 million dollars to give back to the community.
Anyone who knew Jim knew his love of Monopoly boards and all things Disney…especially Disney Villains. His collections were vast, unique, and could sometimes be a bit overwhelming to anyone seeing them for the first time. His love of Christmas, however, was legendary. Over the years, Jim would decorate upwards of 18 unique Christmas trees and throw lavish After-Christmas parties with his prior partner and best friend, Jerry Thorner. It was an annual event and something the two of them thoroughly enjoyed. How fitting that Jim would leave us on the holiday he loved so much.
Jim’s loyalty as a friend, partner, brother, uncle, and son, will be sorely missed. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
In Jim’s honor, have a shot of fireball and if you see fit, donate to The Armorettes at https://account.venmo.com/u/Armorettes40
A celebration of life will be planned for early 2023 and information will be posted on Facebook.
