Jay was born in Steubenville, Ohio, to Barbara Keyser Wiegmann Grice and the late J.R. Wiegmann on September 17, 1973. He attended Shadyside schools until moving to Atlanta and graduating from Crestwood High School. He then attended the University of Georgia. He worked as a TSA agent for a year, worked at Galileo International for a year, and then was employed by Allscripts Healthcare as a senior database administrator until the day he died. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Tanenbaum Wiegmann, in January 2015, and his grandparents C.D. “Bud” and Mary Helen Keyser.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Kevin Grice, his sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Gordon Simpson of Seattle, his fiancée Chriseda Howard of Decatur, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
For those who wish to pay their respects, a viewing will be held in Atlanta this Saturday, 10/1/2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at H.M. Patterson and Son - Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
