

Johnnie Magness White died at the age of 74 on August 2nd at home in Hoschton, Ga. after losing her battle with Congestive Heart Failure, COPD and Lung Cancer. She died surrounded by her daughter, Stephanie, son-in-law, Miguel and grandson, Taylor.
Johnnie was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Ga. on January 11th, 1945. She graduated from Brown High School in 1963 and then went on to train & study at the school of radiology at Piedmont Hospital, where she obtained her certification in 1965. She then went on to work for Dr. Tom Howell, surgeon in the Southeast – Industrial Clinic.
Johnnie was married to the late Daniel Wayne White, Jr. on September 4th, 1965. Together they raised 2 children, a son and daughter, who blessed them with the joys of parenthood. She became a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in his commercial stone business, Sahara Sales Inc. and All South Stone & Water Garden Center. Later in life, she and her son Danny started an eclectic retail business to diversify from its other lines of business.
Those of us who knew her will be lost without her great advice and her kindness, her astute observations and her sense of fun, She was loved by many for her generous spirit, inquisitive mind, and selfless nature that was shown in her day-to-day life. Johnnie will also be remembered by her beautiful sparkling blue eyes, her beehive hair, and those unmistakable long dark eye lashes.
Johnnie is survived by her daughter Stephanie Gonzalez, son-in-law Miguel Gonzalez, grandson Taylor and other family and friends. Johnnie is preceded in death by husband Daniel Wayne White Jr, son Daniel Wayne White III, mother Nelle M Walker and father Herman J. Magness.
Visitation will be on August 7th at 11:00am and services at 12:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son-Spring Hill Chapel. Burial will be at West View Cemetery on the same day.
