Ludie McElroy Webb passed away peacefully at her home on November 14, 2017. Her son was at her side. Ludie was born November 30, 1920 in Doraville, GA, and lived an active, vibrant, and joyous 96 years. She graduated from Chamblee High School and married her high school sweetheart Robert W. Webb. Their marriage lasted 63 years until his death 10 years ago this month. Ludie was a highly qualified, outstanding medical technologist at Crawford Long Hospital in the late 1940’s and Grady Hospital in the mid 1960’s. She was a tireless worker and a respected leader in every facet of her life, from the PTA to various charities to her beloved churches. She was a woman of deep faith and served McElroy Memorial and Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Churches in many roles, including Sunday school teacher, Committee Chair, Circle President, and pianist. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, an adoring grandmother and great grandmother, and a trusted and loyal friend. She was loving and caring to all who were blessed to know her, and she will be greatly missed. Ludie is survived by her son, Bob Webb, and his wife, Judy; her grandson, Jeff Webb, and his wife, Lindley; her granddaughter, Katie Chilivis, and her husband, Nick; and her great granddaughter, Emmy Webb, and two great grandsons, Nickolas “Champ” Chilivis and Walker Webb. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, from 5 pm-7 pm at H. M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NW, Brookhaven. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, at Peachtree Corners Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 5918 Spalding Drive, Norcross.. Following a brief reception for family and friends, there will be a graveside service at Prosperity Cemetery, 5672 Peachtree Road, Chamblee.
