Mark Perry died of natural causes at age 31 in Montana. For 12 years, Mark bravely battled mental illness and is now at peace in God’s loving embrace.
Mark was born in Pasadena, California, and moved to Atlanta at age 12. He attended Polytechnic School in Pasadena and the Lovett School in Atlanta. He spent three years at the University of Virginia where he earned a golf scholarship, lettered his first two years, and joined Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Later at age 27, he earned his bachelor’s degree at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Growing up Mark was surrounded by devoted friends and family, known for his beautiful smile, intelligence, loyalty and quiet grace. A lifelong athlete, Mark was an all-star Little League pitcher, and competed across the country in junior golf tournaments, at one point ranking #18 nationwide. An accomplished fisherman, Mark loved nothing more than heading for the golf course with friends, fishing poles in his golf bag, returning at sundown with a big grin. As recently as this spring, Mark ran a marathon trail run in Missoula, Montana.
Mark is survived and held with great love by his parents, Catherine and Victor (Chip); older brother Skip who he deeply loved and admired; stepmother Monica; and over 40 aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to our friends, the Sinsinawa Dominican sisters, who have held Mark in prayer for many years. www.sinsinawa.org.
