Naoma R. Reid Rhyne

Naoma Reid Rhyne of Atlanta, Georgia, age 86, passed away July 24, 2014. Naoma was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 28, 1928, to Duncan and Leona Reid. She grew up in the Garden Hills area of Atlanta and graduated from North Fulton High School. She was a member of the Atlanta Debutante Society and attended Wesleyan College. She worked at Rich's Department store at Lenox Square where she was the manager of the bridal registry, later retiring from Rich's. Naoma married Carl Lee Rhyne, Jr. in September 1948. She is survived by Thomas R. Rhyne (Donna), Mary Rhyne Jacobs (Scott), and David E. Rhyne (Kim) of Sarasota, Florida, sister-in-law Carol McClenden, and grandchildren Grayson Jacobs, Garrett Jacobs, Ashley Rhyne, Katlin Rhyne, Lindsey Rhyne, and Erin Penwell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29th, in the Chapel at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church at 11:00 am. The family will be receiving guests one hour prior. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
