Dear Family of Bob Spratling:  I worked several years with Bob, in Atlanta.  Because of the nature of our work, I was privileged to hear many stories about his wife and children.  He was such a proud father and husband!  I am saddened that God has chosen to take Bob so early from this wordly life.  I am sure you will miss him greatly. We got to know Bob when he and his Dad sat behind us at UGA basketball games for many years.  He was fun to be around at those games, through good years and bad.  He was a fine student of the game and we enjoyed his good comments about the team and the coaching.  I hope he is watching from "on high" when Coach Fox leads the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament next year.

He has been a real friend since I've been in Athens and I treasured that friendship.   I was so incredibly sorry to hear about Bob.  He was my first supervisor when I came to GSA and I've always thought highly of him. When we lose a love one it can be overwhelming. We send our sincere condolences to the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob for several years at GSA.  Bob had an enthusiastic and animated presence and I always enjoyed debating issues with him or discussing the day's events.  You could often hear Bob coming when he jiggled his keys or a can of mints in his pocket.  Bob was a trusted friend who truly cared for his friends.  Above all, Bob's pride was his family and UGA.  We will all deeply miss Bob and our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I regret that I never had the good fortune to meet Bob personally, but I feel as if I knew him well. I have enjoyed his enthusiastic, insightful and always classy contributions to various UGA message boards for years.  His love for his family and his school showed through everything he wrote.  He could not have been a better example of how to really care.  He will always be DCDog to me and thousands of others who enjoyed his great wit and wisdom.  His presence will be greatly missed.

Bob and I always shared a lot of fun at lunch and while working together.  I will miss him and will hold him in my heart for the great times and laughs we had together. 

We never did understand why we did not have action items at meeting at GSA!  We discussed management styles, politics and we were the resident traffic Nazi's..... We had great times and he was a special person and I will miss him!

When I think of Bob Spratling, I smile. I haven't talked to him in 20 years, but I can clearly hear his Georgia drawl. He was always funny, kind and gentle. I'm sure he has been a tremendous husband and father. He was a wonderful addition to our large group of friends at Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, Virginia in the 80s. I am so sorry for his family that he has gone to Heaven so soon. May God comfort you in your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at GSA when we both worked for the Federal Technology Service (FTS).  We talked about various topics such as, sports, politics and many other topics.  I thought Bob was easy to talk to and very intelligent.  I will miss talking with Bob and the insight he shared in the many areas that we discussed.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with and know Bob.  He will be deeply missed personally and professionally.  I know that the thoughts and prayers of the entire GSA Family are with his loved ones.  God Bless.

Bob was one of the greatest men I have ever known.  He was always talking about his beautiful wife and kids.  He was a kind person and great friend at work - someone you could trust.  He will be dearly missed.

Being a fellow Bulldog fan around Bob, three things were for certain with him.  He loved his family; he loved the University of Georgia; and he was one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.  I am saddened by his sudden passing as he will be missed by so many Bulldog fans that knew him.  He was a true gentleman and a dear friend to so many, including myself. I never met Bob in person, but I read his posts on the Dawgvent Hoops Board for many years.  He was always a fine gentleman and far more mature than myself on many occasions.  He was the archetype of a UGA Basketball fan and I doubt I'll ever watch another game without thinking of him.  I am so sorry for your loss and so sorry that this fine man was taken at such a young age.  My wife and I are praying for your family, as I know are many others.  We lost her father last year (at 50) and I can only imagine the tremendous grief you are experiencing and will experience.  I hate that I never met him, but he will be remembered by so many.  Rest in peace DC, you are a DAMN GOOD DAWG!
