Rosa Evelyn Green

Rosa Evelyn Sorrells Green departed this life on February 17, 2012. She had been a resident of Canterbury Court for almost 21 years. Mrs. Green was born on March 11, 1910 in Hiram, GA, the daughter of W. Esker and AddieBelle Sorrells. She was married to Lowell H. Green, who passed away in 1981. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Mrs. Green worked for a number of years at the Sheltering Arms Day Nurseries. She taught children in Sunday School for many years, as well as in neighborhood Child Evangelism settings. Survivors include daughter, Anna G. Graham of Baltimore, MD; son, Lowell David Green of Beverly, MA; brother, Howard E. Sorrells of Arcadia, FL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The interment will be held in Hiram, GA at 1:30PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Poplar Springs Historical Cemetery at 3836 Hiram-Douglasville Highway. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 1438 Sheridan Road on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 3PM. The family will greet friends after the service. Please do not send flowers; rather in lieu of them the family requests a donation in her memory to either 1) National Evangelical Mission, 13864 SW 122 Court, Miami FL 33186; or 2) Resident Endowment Fund at Canterbury Court, 3750 Peachtree Road, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30319-1322. Mrs. Green was a life-long supporter of gospel missions, and she personally benefited from the Fund.
