Ruth Black Arnold died peacefully on April 6, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 94. Ruth is survived by her four children, James Arnold (Margaret), Carol Ryan (David), Robert Arnold (Lane) and John Arnold (Nancy), nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Born in East McKeesport, PA, Ruth’s family moved to Denver when she was very young. There she graduated from Denver University. In 1943 she married Sidney Maynard Arnold. They settled in Atlanta, Georgia in 1948. Ruth was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, voracious reader and avid traveler having spent the night in all 50 states and visited all seven continents. Ruth was a lifelong Methodist and a member of the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. A family ceremony will be held at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.
