Stephen Mark Ecker

Stephen Mark Ecker, 57, of Buford, GA, passed away on December 17, 2017. Steve was born in Dayton, OH at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He graduated from Northside High School in Atlanta, GA where he was a varsity football player and member of the School of Performing Arts. Steve went on to attend the University of Tennessee and was a member of the UT Singers. He was an accomplished guitarist and soloist and performed in various bands and praise bands in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Steve is survived by his wife of thirty years, Kathy Ecker; daughters, Taylor Ecker Borgerding (Cory), Brooke Ecker Hulsey (Luke); grandson, Knox Allen Borgerding; parents, Allen and Sandra Ecker; sister, Holli Ecker; brother, Mike Ecker (Carolyn); nephew, Chatman Ecker and niece, Blair Ecker. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Thomas Ecker, Martha Holliday Ecker, Eldorado "Rita" Ayers Taylor and Cable Lee Taylor.

A celebration of Steve's life will be conducted at Haygood Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Ecker Family Fellowship Hall.
