I just saw this today and wanted to say I am saddened by his passing. I use to work with Steve, Tom and Charlie many, many years ago. I remember when Jane came in and had all her hair cut off and when she had her 1st child. Praying God will comfort you all.

I have very fond memories of Steve and Jane at our yearly Christmas parties. Steve was always so much fun and such a gentleman when it got down to the final trading of presents.  We recently stopped by the mountain house as Steve and Jane generously gave us their Georgia tickets. As Jane gave a tour of the house to our friends, Steve and I just sat in the living room visiting. We shared stories about our dogs & it was such a nice, relaxing visit that it was hard to leave and get back into the bustle of going to the game.  I will always have fond memories of Steve as he always made me smile. He was so easy to talk to and always had a good story to make me laugh.

then there was the naked stories.  at a fraternity brothers wedding in macon, a fellow sigma chi who shall remain nameess decided to go skiny dipping in the pool.  you guessed it, he got arrested, and steve bailed him out and of course took some clothes for him to the hokey.

then there was the time steve and two other UGA coeds took off on a whim for spring break to daytona.  this is when streaking was popular in the 70s, so one friend, who shall remain nameless, decided to go streaking.  steve locked him out of the room as a joke and left him naked, after which an angry naked friend found steve hiding in the bathroom.

Steve was such a joy to be around - a kind hearted soul with an ever present smile.  Beach trips to PCB, Smyrna Little Leaque and fireworks hold precious memories.  Gone far too soon.

Tom was such a great guy.  He would always be so positive. He would tell Patrick that he could be a State Champion wrestler with such animation and enthusiasm that I believed it!  Always felt better being around him, a rare talent.  God bless Jane, Stephen and Tom. He will be missed.

I attended Northside Drive Baptist when I lived in Midtown Atlanta. Steve and Jane welcomed me with open arms. Jane and I were from the same small town; she went to high school with my older sister. 
One weekend Steve and Jane invited me to a tennis outing at their club and Steve's tennis partner was to be my date for the weekend. That night we went to dinner and we all learned that my date was atheist. I can hear Steve telling him, "One day you are going to need Jesus Christ, I have to have him in my life to make it". Inspiring words from a sweet and kind man! Well, I never went out with the guy again, so I do not know if he ever became a Christian but Steve witness to him right there in the country club and that memory holds strong in my heart! Praying for you Jane! May Jesus Christ warm your heart, mind, body and soul with peace.

This is mostly a story about Steve and sweet Jane....we arrived in Atlanta in May 1997 and were invited to the Tolleson's for a neighborhood July 4th party, it was insane fun, with kids splashing in the pool, the hottest day I had ever imagined.   Either Steve or Jane were promoting the frozen Margarita machine,  I gulped them,  practically crawled home, after fireworks were going off in lush summer foliage.  I will never forget the welcoming love extended by Steve and Jane.  ❤❤❤

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I was a classmate of his at Darlington in the 70's. I am so glad I got to visit with him for a little while at the 40th Class reunion. May God's peace be with you all.

I worked with Steve for a short period. He was the kind of guy, who when he saw you, he was genuinely interested in how you and your family were doing.  Always asked how the kids were and was looking forward to the answer.  He was upbeat, friendly and true to life. I am sorry to hear this news.

I always enjoyed SST and  our group of Brothers in South Ga really will miss him. Great guy that seems to have had a great life. Time moves on and I will miss this Brother. Saw him in Athens a few years back and he had that great smile he always had. Praying for the family and the Man  upstairs will take over. God Bless.

I was very sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I had known him since 1971 at Darlington School and at UGA. Pleasant and funny are two adjectives to describe him. NEVER a bad word about anyone. Jane, Barry and I are so sad to hear of Steve's passing. We have such good memories of your family while you were members at Northside Drive Baptist Church. Steve was so personable. I just came across a Christmas Card from your family last night, and then I read the news of your loss. His loss has touched our hearts. Steve was a wonderful person and he will be missed.

Really looked forward to the fun times of playing tennis at Cherokee with Steve! He was always the strongest and hardest hitter on the court, and was well-liked by all who played with him!

I was so saddened by Steve's sudden passing . Know that our thoughts and prayers are with your family . He was such a Southern gentleman and dedicated father and husband. 
I will miss playing Cherokee ALTA doubles with you and calling you Rocket because you always hitt your first serve as hard as possible. I will always cherish our epic singles matches at the King & Prince courts while our young children and wives slept during the heat of the Saint Simons afternoons. Win or lose you were always the gentleman . Your infectious smile and signature laugh were always present . You left us too early.

Dear Tolleson family, I am so very sorry for your loss. It is never easy to deal with, but I know you will all find loving support in each other and in the loving arms of your family. I send you my deepest sympathy, love and prayers, and hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you doubtless hold of Steve and the wonderful things he has done.

 Heading back from the  '75 Ga-Fl game--my car broke down in Greensboro the Sunday night following the game--Steve and his date passing by in his dark blue firebird rescued me and my date by the side of the road---Steve kept us laughing the entire time--even though the dawgs won---I always remember that 40 minute ride into Athens as the highlight of the weekend---Steve was loved by all the brothers--this is very sad news!

I was sorry to hear today about Steve's passing. We became good friends years ago while teenagers at Darlington School in Rome. He was a great friend. I was fortunate to get to see Steve again at our 40 year reunion in 2013. I will miss him and the memories we had as youthful carefree teenagers years ago.

I would like to extend my family's deepest condolences to the Tolleson family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
