Thomas I Robertson (94) died peacefully on 2 April 2017. Predeceased by his wife Mary – the love of his life- and his son Tom, he is survived by daughter Kathy and grandson Donald, He was born and raised in Carrollton, GA. and went on To UGA, WWII and attained his law degree from Emory University in 1949. After 32 years in finance he retired from Citigroup. Tom was most proud of his service to country and church. Serving with the Fourteenth Army Air Force Engineering Group he supervised the building of airfields for the Flying Tigers to “ go over the hump” (Himalayas) into Kunming, CH, and received the Bronze Star. As an Elder at Christ Presbyterian Church, Edina, MN, he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Refugee and Worship Committees, and surprised himself by how much he enjoyed teaching the Junior High Sunday School Class. We are most proud of Tom’s love for and devotion to his family. He was a hands-on Dad, even with infant care – a rarity among men of his generation. He was fun, affectionate and loved jazz. His optimism was unflagging and contagious; and the good kind which buoys dreams and lets right will out in this World. There will be a private family tribute. Memorials are appreciated for the M.L.K. March Committee, P.O. BOX 490635, ATL., GA 30349; or Women for Women International, Washington, D.C.
