Tracy Patterson Downer

Tracy Patterson Downer died the morning of July 11, 2012. She was 44. Tracy leaves behind her beloved husband, Jeff D. Downer, and two precious children: Sam, 9, and Lucy, 6. She was the daughter of the late Loyd Patterson Jr., the niece of Bob and Debbie Patterson of Wood River, IL, and the God-daughter of Walter Ford and the late Lora Bea Ford. She is also survived by her cousins: Tina and Dene Schickedanz and Shira Patterson, and her mother-in-law, Lynn Downer-Goss.

Tracy majored in Marketing at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. For 17 years, Tracy worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a Senior Account Executive in Major Accounts. She was last employed by Auto Trader. Tracy was an avid sports fan; she especially loved any sport Sam or Lucy played.

A Memorial Mass will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, July 16th at the Cathedral of Christ the King. The family will receive friends at H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill on Sunday, July 15th from two to six o'clock in the evening with a Rosary at five o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Tracy Downer Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo, 3890 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30319, for the education of Sam and Lucy Downer.
