Zack Elliott departed this earth at far too young an age when he died on Sunday, May 1. Only 21 years old, Zack was blessed with a brilliant mind, played a sizzling guitar and enjoyed playing and watching baseball – especially his beloved Boston Red Sox.
Zachary was born on August 25, 1989 in Piedmont Hospital to Mark Elliott and Robin Williamson Elliott. Sadly, Zack lost his Daddy in 1993 and was raised by his devoted mother in their loving Morningside home. Zack attended Pace Academy where he excelled in the classroom and made friends he cherished during his too-short life.
Zack loved youth sports and blossomed at the NYO baseball fields and in various roller hockey leagues around the metro. When Zack picked up the guitar, however, he found his calling, soon thereafter wowing his friends and family with fabulous licks and dazzling natural ability. Zack’s passion was fueled by the stylings of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio.
Zack is survived by his mother Robin Elliott and his paternal grandparents, Charlotte and Bob Myczkowski of Newnan and Pattie and Horace Elliott of Sharpsburg.
Funeral services: Saturday, May 7, 11am at H.M. Patterson and Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta. Following the service Zachary will be laid to rest next to his father at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs. Zack’s family will welcome friends Friday night, May 6 from 6-8pm at Patterson’s-Oglethorpe. The family requests donations in Zack’s name to the scholarship fund at Discovery Place in Burns, Tennessee; discoveryplace.info.
