

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Rainbow Memorial Gardens for Bradford Ray "Cowboy" Garnett, age 72 of Rainbow City, who passed from this life on December 9, 2020. Pastor Chris Terrell will officiate. Morgan Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Bradford was a graduate of Etowah High School and Gadsden State Trade School. He worked at Norfolk Southern as a locomotive engineer. He was a Sergeant in the 1st Calvary Division in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. While in the military, he was a recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. He loved God, his family and friends, his country, and his animals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Garnett; mother, Ruby Garnett; and brother, Owen Garnett; He is survived by his wife, Jennie Garnett; daughter, Anna Meads, and son-in-law, Tim Meads; sister, Linda Terrell (Aryis Terrell), brother, Ernest Garnett, Jr. (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott Russell, Jason Russell, Ernest “Spud” Garnett III, Grayson Russell, Nathan Sewell, and Benjamin Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Wood, Joe Waters, and Lavoy Gaither.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Springs Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to Gadsden Regional medical staff, Encompass Health medical staff, and Kindred Hospice.
