Carolyn Battles

Carolyn Alexander Battles age 83 of Gallant fought a courageous 15 year battle with Alzheimer’s and passed away July 4, 2022. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved gospel music, especially the Inspirations. She was a faithful member of Gallant First Baptist Church. She loved flowers and was an excellent seamstress. She retired from GRMC formerly Baptist Hospital after 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Madge Alexander.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Gene Edward Battles; daughters, Karen (Jim) Harris; Becky (Craig) Cantrell; grandchildren, Jamie Duffey, Madison (Krystal) Osborn, Cale Wissler, Carley (Kendall) Smith; brothers, Bobby (Gloria) Alexander of Elizabethtown, KY; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Gail Sloan.

Funeral Service will be at 2p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Gallant First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Rowan and Chaplin Richard Bradfield officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 until 2p.m.

Burial will be at Gallant Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Gregory, Arlin Taylor, Scott Sloan, Jim Harris, Craig Cantrell, Darren Battles. Honorary pallbearer is A.B. Battles.
