Curtis Norris Jackson, Sr., of Glencoe, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the age of 88. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Glencoe First United Methodist Church, 314 3rd Ave, Rev. Curtis Scott, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Mr. Jackson chose to be cremated. He will rest with his family.
Curtis Jackson graduated from Glencoe High School in 1952. He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army, including being stationed in Korea. He married the love of his life in 1956. After many years of faithful service, he retired from Bellsouth in 1996, and filled his retirement years with family, cooking, fishing, and tinkering in his vast collection of junk. He was a lifelong member of Glencoe First United Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Glencoe.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Jackson; three brothers, John Frank, Jr., Leon, and David Jackson; four sisters, Mary Nell Owens, Doris Wagnon, Francis Dowdy, and Sharon Morris; son-in-law, Brian Harvey, and his faithful little canine buddy, Festus. He is survived by his beloved wife, Faye Jackson; his precious children, Melinda Harvey, Norris Jackson, and Joseph and Tammy Jackson; the grandchildren who were the light of his life, Andrew and Bethanie Jackson, and Ryan Jackson; and his favorite cat companion, Barney. Special family friends include Jeff Cooper, Dionne Trammel, Tadra Trammell and Miranda Jones of Butterfly Home Care and Josh Pruitt of Amedisys Hospice. The family expresses special appreciation to the Glencoe Police Department, Glencoe Fire Department, and Butterfly Home Care.
