Doris Marie Hower Brooks

Mrs. Doris passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Born in Akron, Ohio, she moved to Alabama in 1978. She was a proud parent of three children, a proud grandparent of four grandchildren and proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Doris enjoyed crocheting for everyone, playing bingo and cards. She loved Elvis and listening to 50’s/60’s music. Doris was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved signing old hymns, especially “I’ve Got A Mansion Over The Hilltop”.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Loyd (Chris), Jodi Connolly (Phillip) and John Fairhurst (Sheena), her grandchildren, Jared Loyd (Kandise), Bailey Jackson (Jordan), Hannah Mathis (JT) and Seth Connolly, and her great-grandchildren, Harrison, Ellis, Gunner, Lyla, Bodi and Jase.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Attalla Health & Rehab and Dr. Reiland for taking care of her over the years.
