Eva Fay Simmons

Fay Simmons, 79 passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Attalla, Alabama. Fay was born November 19, 1942 in Blytheville Arkansas to Harold and Myrtle Wakefield. At age 17, she married her first husband Theodore Fish and began her life as an Air Force wife. Ted passed away in 1985 and Fay ran into an old family friend, James Simmons, and they got married in 1986. Fay and James moved to Attalla, AL and started a business of raising Anatolian Shepherd Guard Dogs, which they sold worldwide.

Fay enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden and making flower arrangements. After James passed away from cancer in 2012, Fay closed the business down and spent the rest of her time with family and friends.

She is survived by her two kids, Rusty (Maryann) and Stacey (James) and grandkids: Marissa and Erick Sole and Lisa Rumbaugh and numerous great grand kids.

Her funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel, on Saturday March 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Gallant First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
