

James Reaves was born in Alabama City, AL. on March 15,1945. He was baptized as a young man. Throughout his life he served his church and Christ as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a proud member of Cathedral of Praise in Alabama City. He was a Godly man and a family man that loved with his whole heart. His work ethic was unlike any other, having 44 years in the grocery retail industry before retiring and working on his family home and land. James was a dedicated loving husband of 58 wonderful years. He was known by many for his jokes and drawings, always bringing us smiles and laughter. He will be loved and missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers, sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Reaves, his two sons, David and Jim Reaves, his sister Sara, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a bunch of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:00p.m. A private burial will be at Oak Hill for the immediate family. The family requests that everyone please wear a mask.
