Jean Richard

Visitation will be prior to the service Monday from 5 until 6p.m.

Cremation services were provided by Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Jean was a retired RN who loved family and friends. She was born in Bessemer, Alabama, resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 37 years, and moved to Sand Valley (Attalla), Alabama in 2007. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She loved being back home and working in her yard as well as doing volunteer work including the Sand Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McConnell and parents, Thurston and Margaret Richard.

She is survived by her daughters, Nicky Taylor and Meg Taylor-Wilson (John); granddaughter, Anna Taylor; sister, Sheila Shahid; uncle, Curt Robert (Nell), aunts, Ruby Roberts, Lucille Gaskin, Jenn Richard and numerous cousins and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Unity Baptist Church.
