Michael G. Lasseter

Michael Grant Lasseter unexpectedly transitioned into his heavenly home Saturday, July 28, 2018.

Mike was a native of Gadsden and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1966. He then graduated from Auburn University in 1970 with a BS in Business. After serving in the Army National Guard, he returned to Gadsden and joined his father at the Grant Lasseter Insurance Agency. He continued his career in insurance for several years and then began a career in land development at Lasseter Land Agency until his retirement.

His success in life can be attributed to his outgoing personality and his love of people. He never met a stranger and he always greeted you with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Cecelia Lasseter, and his parents, Grant and Mildred Lasseter.

He is survived by his sister Jane Jones, brother-in-law Dr. Ted Jones, brother-in-law David Akridge (Kathy); nieces Tracy Leigh Jones and Catherine Millhoff (Scott); nephews Chad Jones (Tricia) and William Akridge (Jessica) as well as great nieces and nephews, many cousins and special friend Frankie Copeland.

The family would like to thank the doctors at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Laura Woodward for all their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity or to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter at 156 S 9th St, Gadsden, AL 35901.

Memorial service and a celebration of Mike's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Gadsden. The Rev. Carl Saxton will be officiating. Your presence is welcomed.
