Memorial service for Mr. Michael Allen Thompson, age 69 of Rainbow City, who died Thursday, March 30, 2017, will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Rev. John Davis and Rev. Rodney Prickett will Officiate.
Mr. Thompson was a coal miner, a Registered Nurse and proudly served in the U. S. Navy as a diver. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Thompson and Mary Louise; daughter, Lia Chambliss; sons, Rick and Tim Schmale; brother, Ervin Thompson and sister, Grace Bice; infant, Emma Gail Schmale and infant, Benjamin Zackary Schmale.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Calhoun Thompson; grandchildren, Jason (Meagan) Schmale, Jennifer (Nathan) Deweese and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dot Brown and Thelma Crump; nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law Brenda Schmale and sister-in-law, Caroline Dial.
