Randy’s story began on April 22, 1954. He was a 1972 graduate of Gadsden High School. He worked in the grocery business his entire career and was a Retail Counselor at Associated Grocers of the South from 2004 until his homegoing.
Before us is the beautifully written book of a man who loved life. To know Randy was to love him. These words are often casually tossed around, but in the case of Randy, they are well chosen words. He never met a stranger. All one needs to do is just read social media posts about him to feel like you knew him- even if you had never met him. As he wrote his chapters, he made it clear that he loved Jesus, his wife Joy, his kids and grandkids, his brothers, nieces and nephews, his extended family, his fur babies, his friends, well you get the picture. He illustrated his pages with kindness, honesty, loyalty, and an impeccable work ethic. He was an incredible husband, dad, man, boss, and employee. He enjoyed deer hunting and Alabama football. He didn’t like spaghetti or iced tea, but if you offered him a steak and a Pepsi, all was well! Thankfully if you knew him, your name was written somewhere in his story. When he crossed over into heaven, the pages had only just begun. Randy is now celebrating with his dad, Calvin Tarrance; his mother, Charlsie Martin Tarrance; father-in-law, Larry Hill, and nephew, Matthew Tillery. Family and friends, you will be pleased to know that Randy is still writing the epilogue of his book. So instead of saying goodbye on June 25, 2021, he said “to be continued.” In the meantime, he is awaiting his reunion with his wife, Joy Hill Tarrance; daughters, Kymberli Tarrance and future son-in-law Jamie Holcombe, Tristan (Marcus) Christmas, Lindsey Justice and future son-in-law Ryan Lynch; son, Chris Justice; brothers, Richard Tarrance and Ronald Tarrance, and a host of extended family and friends.
Randy’s pallbearers are Ryan Lynch, Marcus Christmas, Zack Bailey, Noah Liles, Joseph Fountain, and Matthew Fountain. Honorary Pallbearers are Ron Tillery and Robert Sheets.
