Roy was born in Missouri to Ruth and John Franklin and he was the fourth child of seven.
He grew up in Springville and was raised with Christian values in a very large family whom he adored. He met his wife Jacque and they were married after one week of dating. Roy was a loving husband for over 50 years. They lived happily together in Steele and he loved spending time with all his nieces and nephews. He loved to yard sale and tried to keep busy during his long battle with rheumatoid arthritis.
Roy leaves behind his wife of 50 years Jacque Franklin, his brothers John W. (Louise) Franklin, Roger (Sue) Franklin, David (Robin) Franklin, Tommy (Paula) Franklin, Mickey (Wendy) Franklin, Michael (Margaret) Franklin, and sisters – Carol Grier, Sharon Batson, and many nieces and nephews.
