Gilbert Lee Carpenter

Gilbert Lee Carpenter (73) of Attica, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his home. He was born July 9, 1941 in Rowan County, KY to the late Henry and Mary Maxine (Link) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter retired from the Shelby Water Department on July 31, 1996 and was a member of the Shelby Eagles, Shelby Moose, and the Crawford County Coonhunter’s Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping and gardening. Gilbert cherished the time he spent with his family and his two dog companions: Toby and Ginger.

Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife: Karen Sue (Damschroder) whom he married July 3, 1990, 3 daughters: Lisa (Tony) Fernandez of Ontario, Laura (Jeff) Burrer of Ganges and Tammie (Bob) Patton of Willard, 3 sons: Scott (Nicki) Carpenter of Shelby, Larry Leddick of Attica and Kenneth Leddick of OK. 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and brother: Ronnie (Darlene) Carpenter of Shiloh. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Charles Carpenter and a baby brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica, OH with Jan Ann Clarke, Chaplin of Stein Hospice officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca County Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice through the funeral home.
