10/28/1944 - 1/6/2021
Foresthill, CA - Sue Anderson, as she was known to most, passed away
peacefully at home on January 6, 2021 after a long battle with Lewy Body
Dementia.
Her life was the very definition of “full”. She was born on October 28, 1944,
grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and started her own family at a young age:
marrying at age 16 and finishing high school from home. She had an
energy for life and it seemed as if she could do anything. She raised three
children, along with horses, chickens, goats, and a healthy garden, while
running her own business, “Sue’s Sewing Shop,” in Agua Dulce, CA,
where she did custom tailoring and alterations. She made costumes for
some celebrities, including Montie and Ellie Montana, in addition to keeping
her children and the local community in well-fitting clothes. She is revered
for the blankies she made for her grandchildren that they have kept
discreetly hidden under their pillows well into adulthood.
Sue relocated to Pequot Lakes, MN, before settling in the Auburn, CA,
area. She was a businesswoman at heart and taught her children to be
entrepreneurs, telling them that they could achieve anything they put their
minds to if they worked hard enough. She went back to school in her late
40s and completed her Associate’s degree at Sierra College. She was an
administrator for Edward Jones from 1996 to 1999 and then worked to
achieve licensing to become a Financial Advisor, where she loved serving
her clients, community, and many friends until her retirement in 2015.
In addition to working so hard for her clients, Sue volunteered her time,
energy and resources very generously. She loved her Soroptomist sisters
and served on the board of the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Foundation for
many years in support of their mission to provide quality healthcare to the
Auburn community. She did all of this while faithfully making the time to
read to her mother-in-law at a care facility every week for years.
An avid traveller, Sue tried to see as much of the world as she could. She
loved to share her experiences with her family, taking them with her to
places like Hawaii, Italy, Thailand, Jordan, and South Africa, which were
just a few of her favorite jaunts. She was never one to sit still for long. She
was the cool grandma: the one with the horses and the fast car. The
grandkids called her "Grandma Zoom”.
Sue is survived by her husband, Kenneth Cosmo; her 3 children: Sandra
Lee Cromwell, Robyn Lynn Jensen, and Avery Erik Anderson; 7
grandchildren: Leah Cromwell, Johnathan Cromwell, Erin Madonna, James
McGall, Grace Jensen, Mariah Anderson and Mason Anderson and by
numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Due to Covid19, no services will be held at this time. A memorial service
will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory
