1964 – 2020
With the greatest of sadness, we announce the passing of Lisa Norine Geil-Bazinet on March 6, 2020. Lisa died peacefully after a 4 ½ yearlong battle from lung cancer with family by her side. She was 55.
She was a resident of San Francisco, CA and leaves behind her beloved husband Daniel P. Bazinet and son Dominic. Born in Auburn, CA, she was the daughter of Ellen and Ron Geil. She is predeceased by James Dougherty and Mary Lou Geil.
Lisa also leaves behind an extended close family of Stacey & Michael Schriefer and children Emma & Paige; Lindsey Jurkowski; Brian & Amy Bazinet; Renee & William Nelson and children Maia & Wyatt; Kevin Bazinet; Michael Dougherty; Rick Dougherty; and Kim Dougherty. Equally important to her was her “Little Sister” Tammi Steed from the Big Brother/Big Sister Organization.
Lisa was a brilliant guiding light and positive spirit affecting all who knew her. She will be sincerely missed by all her dearest personal friends, professional friends, and loving relatives. A graduate of Placer High and the University of Southern California, Lisa led an accomplished career as a Marketing Executive for companies such as The Vionic Group, Karen Neuburger, EO Products, The Rockport Company and Birkenstock.
She was a member and former elder of St. John’s Presbyterian Church in San Francisco and a founder of the St. John’s Harvest Food Pantry. She also volunteered for the San Francisco Symphony Junior Committee, and as an event coordinator for several fundraising events at St. Brigid Elementary School.
Truly a spiritual person who tried to maximize every waking moment, Lisa loved family and friend gatherings, traveling to new places, blessings at the dinner table, flowers, the theater, USC football, Fenway Park, and trolling around volleyball tournaments to watch her son Dominic play.
A family memorial service was held on Saturday, March 14th @ at Chapel of the Hills in Auburn, CA.
For family friends and distant relatives, a “Celebration of Life” will be planned and held on a later date in San Francisco, CA at St. John’s Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, or to Dress for Success / San Francisco Chapter, an organization which provides programs to women striving for economic empowerment, all in her name.
