Born to Pete and Helen Meyers, Longview WA the fourth of 7 children.
She wed Phil Fanony in 1949, moving to Meadow Vista in 1961.
Together they raised 5 children: Chris Bugenig, Allan Fanoni and Wendy Kaschak of Auburn CA, Jolene Fanony and Kelly Binger of Salem, OR. Phil preceded her in death after nearly 50 yrs of marriage.
Surviving are all 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Velva celebrated the outdoors and photographed nature around the world. She will be remembered as an intelligent, athletic woman of strength, for her profound love of family, her helping hands,and witty sense of humor. May she be forever in peace. A private family gathering will be held in July.
