Carol was born in Clinton, Iowa, on December 29, 1940. She attended Pontiac Central High School, class of 1958. She lived in Auburn Hills for 60 years where she raised her family. Carol started her career at Ted's on Woodward, working at various restaurants while raising her family including Harveys in Waterford and the Shalea in Auburn Heights. She eventually retired from General Motors where she also served as a union steward. Carol loved going to her cabin in the woods of West Branch. In retirement she enjoyed South Padre Island, Texas. Carol had so many interests including ceramics, gardening and just being outside. She was strong-willed and fiercely tenacious, accomplishing everything she set her mind to.
Carol is survived by her children Sandy (Bill) Beacom, Karen (Don) Wood, Lynette (Todd) Shelly, and Tim (Shannon) Larrison; grandchildren Kelly (Jon) Tollefson, Matthew (Laura) Beacom, Brianne (Nick) Schwab, Brad (Brett) Woodiker, Nathan Shelly, Miranda Shelly, Steph (Adrienne) Yell, Katelyn (Justin) Waterman, Joe (Daniell) Marcinko, Brandon Marcinko, Jim Costello, Robb Larrison and Megan Larrison; and 14 great-grandchildren. Carol was predeceased by her husband James "Doug" Beck, brother Robert Saucier and her 4 legged buddy and side kick Max.
Visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Rd., Auburn Hills, Michigan, 48326, on December 3, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on December 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will take place at the same location on December 4, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, 878 N Perry St, Pontiac, MI 48340.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Carol.
