TURNER, Charles Lee, age 79, of Auburn Hills, passed away on April 4, 2023. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Vicki; children Nancy, Rhonda, Jennifer, Charles (Heather), and Kaitlin Turner; grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Nathaniel, Chelsea, Valeri, Morgan, Jordan, Jayden, Xavier, and Phoenyx; and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 dear sisters Mary (Daryl) Shank and Verna Turner. Preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Helen Turner, and a sister Luanne Fletcher.
Charles was born on August 20, 1943 in Pontiac. He graduated from Avondale High School in 1961 and then joined the Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Charles went to work for General Motors and retired in 2004 as a foreman.
He enjoyed painting cars, turning tires into flower pots, and was a talented artist that sketched scenes of the outdoors and was especially known for his funny placemat doodles. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, and his ‘other’ family-the Big Boy Breakfast Club. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 7, 2023, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, in Auburn Hills. Entombment and private family services will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
