Joyce Arlene Royer Pottenger

Joyce Arlene Pottenger (Royer), 70, of Auburn Hills, passed away May 8, 2017. Beloved wife to Don Pottenger for 48 years; Dear mother to Chad (Jennifer) Pottenger and Dawn (Barry) Walker; Cherished grandmother to Chloe, Grace, and Griffin. She is predeceased by her parents Dwayne and Velma Royer and sister Judith Nichols. Joyce was born in Hammond Lake, Indiana on April 27, 1947. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1965 and married Don Pottenger on August 24, 1968. Joyce raised her family with her husband in Indiana, Ohio and lastly in Auburn Hills. She worked in Accounts Payable at Knight Global for 20 years until her retirement in 2012. Joyce enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, and needlepoint. She was an active member of Five Points Community Church for 30 years. She loved her family and could not spoil her grandchildren enough. The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Thursday May 11th, 2017 from 2-8pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Rd, in Auburn Hills. Joyce will be Instate on Friday May 12th, 2017 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am at Five Points Community Church, 3411 E. Walton Blvd., Auburn Hills. Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor to the Building Fund at Five Points Community Church or the Pancreatic Cancer Network (pancan.org).
