She was born on September 29, 1940, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In her younger years, Mildred loved shopping and playing cards with friends and family. In 2000, she married the love of her life, Joe Dunn, in a joyful Las Vegas wedding. Together, they shared many wonderful memories, especially during their years up north where they enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
Later in life, Mildred found her greatest joy in being surrounded by loved ones. Her warmth, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mildred is survived by her beloved husband, Joe; her children Steve (Marybeth) Barrett, Chris (Jana) Barrett, and Cathy Barrett; and her cherished grandchildren Andrew, Jonathan, Joel, and Katie. She is also survived by her siblings, stepchildren, and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Barrett.
A memorial visitation in honor of Mildred will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home – John Desmond Chapel, 3530 Auburn Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.
