Doris Bernice Fischer

Doris Bernice Fischer, a long-time resident of Auburn, WA passed away on August 31, 2014 in Statesville, NC at the age of 93. She was born on August 22, 1921 in Audubon, MN to Christian and Bergetta (Nelson) Pederson. Doris worked for Pacific Bell Phone Company as a supervisor in Auburn for many years. She moved to North Carolina in 2013 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends who also loved it when her son Dennis came to join them. Doris was especially talented with Wii bowling, scoring a 243 at over 90 years old. One of her greatest joys was travelling with her husband Lawrence all over the country in their RV. She was a member of the Burlington Northern Veteran Club, Elks Golden Antler Travel Club, Royal Road Runner Travel Club, Telephone Pioneers and a Women of the Moose Charter Member. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence in 2007. She is survived by her son Dennis Fischer (Mary) and her grandchildren Kimberly and Ryan. She will be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, WA.
