

Douglas Glenn Helton, 61, of Kent, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2013. He was born on June 12, 1951 in Vancouver , WA to Donald Glenn and Delores "Lorry" Helton. After graduating from High School he joined the US Army where he received training as an air traffic controller and also obtained his pilot's licence. He continued that line of work until the 1981 controller's strike. Doug received a Bachelor's degree from the UW and after starting work at Boeing as a scheduler planner, went on to receive a Master's from Seattle University. Doug loved the Lord and was very involved with his Church as a sound technician, Commander of AWANA, Sunday School teacher, and more. Very much a provider for his family, he enjoyed going to baseball games, football games, and taking special trips with them. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Schnebly) of Kent and their four sons, Ryan, Shane (from his prior marriage to Sue Curtain) Matthew and Andrew; grandchildren Joshua, Maxwell, Parker and Addison, his mother Lorry, sisters Linda Jones, Keitha Geehan, and Karen Hartman, brother Ron as well as numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a time of visitation at Price-Helton Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30th from Noon to 9:00 PM. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 1:00 at Faith Baptist Church in Kent. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery at 11:30 that day. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity or ministry.
