
Born August 5, 1921 in Laurens, Iowa and passed away November 5, 2011 in Des Moines, Washington. Bill was raised in Laurens, Iowa and after high school attended Iowa State Teachers College. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served in the South Pacific during World War II and later served during the Korean Conflict, earning a Bronze star. Bill graduated from University of Iowa and in 1950 married Mary Jane Kemper in Chicago, Illinois. Bill worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 35 years as a District Manager. After retirement he moved to Arizona and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bill was preceded in death by his son W. Todd Mather in 2007, and his wife Mary Jane in 2008. He is survived by his daughter; Susan Mather, son in law; Roger Meessen and 3 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Wesley Homes Lea Hill Auburn, Washington.
