Coming from a large extended family, Charley’s happiest childhood memories were spent visiting his grandparents and many cousins. Every year they enjoyed getting together for the family reunions in Georgia and sharing memories with family that travelled in from all over. Some of his earliest ambitions were working with and for his dad on the farm.
Charley graduated high school in Miami in 1958 before going on to attend a year at the University of Miami. He spent most of his career working for Brunswick building bowling alleys which inspired his life long hobby of bowling. Outside of work, his faith was important to him as he held many positions at First United Methodist Church in Lake Alfred.
On December 2, 2017, Charley married his loving wife, Fern Robinson. Together they enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, playing cards, and entertaining friends and family while continuing to attend family reunions.
Charley is survived by his wife, Fern Robinson, daughters Melody McGregor (Roger) of Cincinnati, OH, Loretta Foster (Lance) of Urbana, OH, and Lorraine Parker-Chance (Durwood) of OH, sisters Donna Boutwell of NC, Molly Rutledge of Florida, and Lisha Lawrence (Larry) of Adel, GA, Dominick Intagliata (Billie) of West Palm Beach, FL, and Maxie Parker of GA, as well as six grandchildren, Amber and Andrew of OH, and Mary, Josh, Jacob, and Taylor of FL, aunt Geneva Pickard of NC, stepsons Thomas Robinson (Nancy) of FL, Richard Robinson (Jacky) of KY, and David Robinson (Angie) of AR, as well as many cousins and other family members and friends. Charley was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Parker.
