Gene and I attended grade school at Northern Balsams one-room school from kindergarten to 8th. Grade. My late brother, Wayne and Gene were several grades ahead of me.
Gene was my tutor when I had missed school and he caught me up with flash cards and review of material Missed. I remember these 80+ years later that Gene was a patient and obviously sharp student. We rode the bus to Stephenson with our brothers for high school.
Our fathers worked together in the ‘30s and 40’s + at the Chalk Hills and White Rapids
Hydroelectric dams and my Dad, Paul Krueger reported to Gene’s dad, Emery. Our families lived in the small village of Northern Balsams in housing provided by the company and socialized.
If we had known that we lived so close together(Winter Haven, FL.)I am sure we would have looked each other up to renew old memories of our boyhood
in the north woods of Michigan.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves memories no one can steal ...
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much, that you just want to pick them from heaven and hug them for real.

Our love and sympathy,

My sympathy and love to my friend Rita and the wonderful family that I have come to know. Gene was such a good friend to my late husband Wendell and I know that Gene and Wendell are together and enjoying banana splits, like always.
