when i spent 6 month in Evanville with your parents Luke and John in 1980, I also met you.
Later we saw us in Albig, Germany - together with the Walter Koch Family.

I always loved when John was on duty at KCLE.  He would always give me and 15 Charlie Papa the most direct routing to the airport.  He was a great Controller and I enjoyed a bit of bantering on the radio with him every time.  John was a true professional in that environment, but also a real down to earth, funny guy away from the seriousness of air traffic control.  I enjoyed knowing him as my brother's neighbor and as a professional in aviation.

John, you are home now and at peace, you were a loving father and wonderful grandfather who's grandchildren loved their visit from you, you will be remembered and truly missed
